L.A. man receives 19 years in prison for Laguna Beach home robbery


 A 23-year-old Los Angeles man pleaded guilty Thurday for his part in a Laguna Beach home invasion robbery in 2012 and was immediately sentenced to 19 years in prison.
Tyrone Lamont Beasley pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery with a sentencing enhancement for using a weapon in the crime and street terrorism. Multiple other felony counts of false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon with enhancements for committing the crimes for the benefit of a gang were dismissed.
Co-defendant Jyvontaye Demetric Harris, 22, of Los Angeles, is due in court May 18.
Beasley and Harris were accused of a home invasion robbery on the night of Oct. 13, 2012, in Laguna Beach.
They were accused of stealing about $6,000 worth of jewelry, Laguna Beach police Capt. Jason Kravetz said when they were arrested in April 2013.
